Wastewater Operations Supervisor
This is a full-time position with benefits including medical, dental and vision insurance with premiums paid 100% for employee and 80% for dependents, vacation and sick leave and PERS. This position will report directly to the General Manager with hours set at 7:30AM-4:00PM, Monday-Friday. This position must be available to be in the standby rotation for afterhour’s emergency calls.
Starting hourly wage is $28.10, depending on experience.
The Wastewater Operations Supervisor is a safety sensitive position subject to pre-employment and random drug and/or alcohol testing.
Responsibilities under the Wastewater Operations Supervisor position include supervises, oversees and participates in the most complex and difficult work, responsible for wastewater treatment plant operations, collection operations, effluent discharge, performs a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility and related work as required.
Minimum requirement of Wastewater Operations Supervisor requires certification from the NDEP, State of Nevada as a Grade III Wastewater Treatment Operator, State of Nevada Grade 1 Collections certification and three years of experience responsible for wastewater treatment operations, collection operations, effluent discharge, repair and maintenance of wastewater treatment plants, technical tasks relative to assigned areas and to maintain those levels of Certification.
A valid state driver's license to cover operation of public works vehicles is required.
Preference in the recruitment process will be given to applicants:
· Who have extensive knowledge and experience in installing, repairing, cleaning and lubricating pumps and other production equipment, cleaning and maintaining District Collection systems, Wastewater treatment facilities and surrounding grounds as needed.
· Who have extensive knowledge and experience in maintenance of designated plant equipment such as pumps, valves, electrical motors, chart records, collection lines, lift stations, metering devices and generators as directed by supervisors. Maintaining plant operating records including Daily Logs and inputting data into computers and submitting reports as required.
· Who have experience supervising, leading, planning and participating in regulating and calculating flow, monitoring chemical additions, maintaining state regulated effluent quality and implementing NDEP testing policies and procedures.
· Who have experience supervising, leading, planning and participating in activities designed to monitor pumps, gauges and basins, runs the sludge handling facility, handles chemicals and their tests, collects samples and removed dried sludge and grit.

FIELD OPERATIONS UTILITY I
The District is hiring for a Field Operations Utility I position. This is a full-time position with benefits including medical, dental and vision insurance with premiums paid 100% for employee and 80% for dependents, vacation and sick leave and PERS. This position will report directly to the Field Operations Supervisor with hours set at 7:30AM-4:00PM, Monday-Friday some weekends may be required, with a starting hourly wage of $20.61, depending on experience.
Field Operations Utility I is a safety sensitive position subject to pre-employment and random drug and/or alcohol testing.
Responsibilities under the Field Operations Utility position include performing a variety of skilled and manual laborer tasks involved in buildings, construction, maintenance, and repair of various public properties including streets, storm sewer system, pathways, sidewalks, street signs, rights of way, parks and open space. Some duties require the employee to drive a truck or other vehicle to transport personnel and/or equipment. Work assignments will vary depending upon season and projects to which assigned.
A valid state driver's license to cover operation of public works vehicles is required.
Preference in the recruitment process will be given to applicants:
· Who have a basic understanding/knowledge of facility and park maintenance, basic lawn, field and/or tree and plant maintenance techniques,
· Have appropriate use and maintenance of hand and power tools and other equipment common to basic laborer tasks and
· Have a working knowledge of standard streets, grounds and facilities maintenance/repair procedures and have a working knowledge of irrigation controllers.
